Leeds: Round Foundry & Marshall's Mill
Igloo's Round Foundry regeneration project sits on the south side of Leeds city centre, a short walk from the mainline railway station and also within easy reach of the City Centre.
A mixed use neighbourhood, Round Foundry comprises 98 occupied, mixed-tenure residential units and around 75,000 sq ft of commercial space, including creative industries workspace, and a number of independent bars, cafes and restaurants. A collection of historic listed mill and former foundry buildings, modernised and refurbished, form the bulk of the property offer, including the Round Foundry Media Centre and the Grade II listed Marshall’s Mill.
The Round Foundry Media Centre, which has been open since December 2003 provides a high quality, contemporary focus for the digital and creative industries in Leeds.
Marshalls Mill, a former flax mill of around 66,000 sq ft, is the largest single asset in the project area. It is currently undergoing major refurbishment to provide high quality office accomodation, complete with fibre backed broadband to suit modern businesses.
Further development is planned to take place at Round Foundry, with land available for new projects.
